The Popular Show Campaign 4 Introduces the Soldiers Group

From the very beginning of the fourth campaign, fresh DM Brennan Mulligan has kept fans guessing with deep backstory, a diverse cast of characters, and a thrilling plot featuring divine entities, fiends, and malevolent powers expanding in influence within the city.

Heads-up: Spoilers for the latest installment of this adventure lie ahead.

The Warrior Group Introduced

Episode 3 finished on a dramatic pause and introduced the initial group of heroes who will split off from the central cast to undertake their separate journey, distinct from the other two tables.

The combat-focused team features the determined fighter (brought to life by Travis Willingham), Thimble (Laura), the fierce warrior (Whitney), the cleric (Sam), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie Daymond).

The Reason for Division

Considering 13 cast members, it was evident from the start that maintaining everyone at the same party would be unfeasible.

That’s why, the opening chapters of Campaign 4 serve as an Prelude, intertwining the characters’ stories before dividing into three separate parties: Soldiers, Schemers, and Questers.

What Defines the Warrior Group

Per the DM, the warrior group is for adventurers who prefer a traditionally charged fight-heavy gameplay experience where diplomatic options are rare.

Upon first impression, figures such as the squeamish cleric Wicander Halovar might look mismatched, but the events of the latest installment demonstrate why these five characters are best suited for the warrior group.

Motivations for Departure

First, the group has a clear idea where to head next after a intense first encounter with the enemy group.

Casimir of Thjazi—whose death initiated the narrative’s action—exploited The Crow Keepers for his own means, breaking into the hidden lair, attacking Thimble, and stealing all the magical artifacts to sell off.

The antagonist then settled his obligations and fled to a secure base in Gormalay, Timmony, above the urban center, with Cyd Pridesire hot on his heels.

Individual Reasons

Additionally, each character has a personal reason to leave the city the urban setting:

  • Thimble, as the close ally and trusted friend, seeks revenge.
  • The knowledgeable figure knows the region and cautions that it is a hostile place.
  • Tyranny and The cleric, having defied his relatives’ demands to eliminate the fighter and instead saved him, have nowhere else to go.
  • But, their reputation as key figures in House Halovar could assist the party reach locations they usually can’t.
  • Additionally, The fighter swore a unbreakable promise to The cleric for his deliverance and will now follow him wherever.

Wanted and Hunted

Finally, all of them are sought by the powers that control Dol-Makjar for a range of causes, making remaining behind no longer safe:

  • The agile adventurer and The hero are known criminals.
  • The strong figure and The cleric defied the influential house and the horde of evil beings they are partnered with.
  • The fighter is wanted dead by House Halovar.

This means them few options but to travel to Timmony in search of Casimir.

Upcoming Developments

Based on episode three’s follow-up content, we find out that the warrior group won’t be around next week, leaving the other eight participants to form the Seekers and Schemers tables.

Fans can expect discovering which characters will be assigned to which table in the story’s final introductory chapter, streaming live on the upcoming Thursday.
